The Synod Discipline Committee is composed of 12 members, 6 clergy and 6 lay, each from one of the 10 conferences. The members serve for one 6-year term, elected by the synod assembly. The committee is a pool of individuals from whom a group will be selected to meet and listen to the parties involved and render a decision. If the charges are sustained, the committee will impose a discipline appropriate to the situation.
