2008 Domestic Hunger Grants

Four Domestic Hunger Grant Applications were received for the 2008 distribution by the ELCA Domestic Hunger Grant Committee. The SW WA Synod Hunger Committee reviews these grants that total $17,500 and recommended $15,000 to fund all four applications. The four received a total of $8,000for their programs in 2008.

Educational Hunger Resources

Augsburg Fortress and the ELCA World Hunger Committee have produced 2 resources:

“OWP: Nicaragua” A series of 7 independent videos that can be used for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School or other youth events. These videos are for grades 3-9.

“Living Simply with God” A 40-day educational and inspirational discipline calendar that will challenge a person’s life style. This unique calendar can be used by families during lent.
